Moulton village is just 7 miles from the historic market town of Richmond. Our cottage sleeps 4 persons  (+ 1 baby, must provide own cot) in two spacious bedrooms containing one king size bed and two single beds. We are dog friendly and welcome one well behaved dog free of charge. (Occasionally we accept two or three very small dogs, please enquire with us).

Moulton View was our home for over 15 years and will always hold a special place in our hearts. It's fair to say that we fell in love with the idyllic village with its dog friendly pub The Black Bull and the gorgeous rural surroundings. The cottage is wonderfully situated in a top corner location, affording a lovely balance of privacy combined with stunning views and thanks to the four accessible routes in and out, it affords multiple options and perfect location for exploring all that North Yorkshire and the North of England has to offer including the North Pennines and The Lake District. Amongst the multitude of attractions, there are options to visit:-

The Yorkshire Dales National Park

Harrogate

York

Leeds

Durham City

Northumbria

Scotland

The Yorkshire Coast

If you love the outdoors, we have wild swimming and SUP Boarding, canoeing and kayaking just a 10 minute drive away.

We are in James Herriott country on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, so if you are a fan of All Creatures Great and Small either the new series or the old, you will be able to visit the places seen on screen and also the villages he was connected to.

Richmond is just the most interesting place and is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. With its Waterfalls, Castle, The Georgian Theatre Royal, the oldest working theatre in its original form and The Station which hosts a cinema, cafe, artisan bakery and so much more, you will be amazed at  what this little market town has packed within it. We border with County Durham and within 15 minutes away.  There are some great places to visit like Hamsterley Forest a family day out either walking the dog/s , cycling or just walking through County Durham's largest forest. Bowes Museum has many events on during the year and its only 20 minutes drive from Moulton.

Moulton View has everything you will need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. It has modern furnishings, cleaned to a high standard. Whether you are looking for a couple of nights stay to a week or working in the North East commuting between home and business, we can offer you relaxing surroundings with the most fabulous cosy beds, you will feel  relaxed and at home immediately.

Our bedrooms are spacious and well equipped with everything you should need.  Built in wardrobes, bedside tables and lamps, dressing table and chair and finally for that last minute check before leaving to go out, a full length mirror in each bedroom.

The cottage holds our unique magical area, a spiral staircase leading to out secret garden. The views across the Yorkshire countryside are just so relaxing.  Its a little piece of heaven and many guests enjoy the tranquillity and privacy of the decked garden.  It can be used all year round and for those who like to sit out at night, all you need is a cosy warm coat or a blanket and a hot chocolate or a glass of wine. It catches the sun from midday and takes you to sunset, and they are stunning! If you are not keen on heights then our lower garden is just as magical surrounded by a 6ft foot fence, gate and private with running water feature.

If you are in need of relaxation, scenic views and love to get out and about either walking/hiking or to explore the outdoors, then Moulton and North Yorkshire and the North East area will be a place that you will start to unwind as soon as you arrive. Families, Couples and Friends will certainly find amazing views, historic buildings, gardens, museums and many locations to walk and enjoy the Yorkshire fresh air. Dogs will love it too, exploring hills, winding paths, forests, rivers and lakes not to mention the many waterfalls in Yorkshire.
